I heard it was the top 3 of the fastest he done.JMS.
I just saw an article where farmers are buying 40 year old tractors because they can work on them. It is crappy IMHO and I'm one who writes software for a living (for over 25 years).
Hopefully it will get to a point where the module is smart enough to deal with basic part changes.
If having the saw use a computer is an advantage, they will go that way. On street outlaws those guys aren't turning mixture screws on carbs, they plug in the laptop and make changes to how the engine delivers power etc. And make another run down the road. Consumers don't do that, they drive the car daily without needing a computer when they change wear parts on the car. Hopefully saws can get to the point where you don't need to bring a laptop into the woods!

It will be interesting when Randy puts mix in these saws and starts them. I imagine he has some concerns as to how they will adjust to mods, they might go bonkers...Damn computer saws!
Surprised it took this long considering the TS500i was out how many years ago...I wonder if they just wanted to be able to lay claim to building the first fuel injected saw.
.Damn computer saws!
If they documented the hardware interface and messaging used sure. But it is proprietary tech and they likely will not release what they've done like OBD II for cars. Thus forced to try and reverse engineer which is what use breese was trying to do with an mtronic he started slicing apart. If they publish an API I would love to mess with it.... doubt that will happen. So, do you think you could make a program that us knuckleheads could be able to program the fuel curve in the 500i? I hope so cause you're the only one that answered the add. I believe this is the final thing that will take this saw from a garden tool to a race thoroughbred.
"They" say that these saws might be fine without resetting, and that might be true.
But....I have about 7000.00 worth of hard to get saws sitting here. Why take that chance?
I've had the Autotune reader for years, I've been interested in having the Stihl version as well.....so.
It will be cool to see what the MDG has to say about em anyhow.
