What'll really suck is if the manufacturers lock the ecm's like the automotive world and you have to buy a vin or serial # license for each saw through a tuning software company just to tune it.

Reading the service manual is a bit confusing without the diagnostic program open on the computer to refer too. As far as I can tell, the reset procedure is fairly simple, but has to be initiated while the saw is hooked up......then unhooked and calibrated, hooked back up to be sure the reset was successful. It can't be "tuned" with the software.....just reset back to default.

I was talking about more down the line in the future as fuel injection possibly makes its way onto everything with an engine

Yes, authorized dealers do it while the saw is at the workshop for service, maintenance, repairs etc.

What about the fart cans and advanced auto wings?

Next thing they are going to sell a power commander for these things like on fuel injected Bikes.

Do those replace the factory ecm or just work inline with it? I've heard of them, just never messed with one
