I hate using my phone to do these threads....I lose pictures, have trouble seeing the thumbnails, and I can't type worth a damn on it.....but

We're gonna compare the MS400 to the MS362 anyhow.

The 400 is built on the same chassis as the 362...but rather than a 59cc unit, it is a 67cc machine.

The MS400 is a 50mm bore, the 362 is 47mm.

A 3mm larger piston made from aluminum would have required a different crankshaft with heavier counterweights I suppose.

By making the piston from magnesium, they were able to use the same crankshaft.

That's how they built a 67cc saw that is lighter than many 50cc units.

Genius.
