Yes and use a center drill to drill out all the spot welds. It can be kind of a pain. lol.

Just finished the 2nd one but I ain't seen any spot welds yet. Lol

I uncrimp the top and bottom and 1 side then pop it out.
Pia really,I hoped you had a super easy way

Pia really,I hoped you had a super easy way
I just grind the spot welds down to get that shield out. Less risk of making a hole all the way through the front cover.

Only welds I seen are the 3 1/2" long ones holding the cat in.
I uncrimp it and that's it
Maybe they missed this one.

They usually have several spot weld holding on the cat. 4 across the top. 3 on the bottom and a couple in the centerish.

I'm really surprised to hear you say that as there one of the most torquier saws out of the box. Especially a 5100 without the cat.
Now for the torque question. I run a 20" 3/8 bar on mine and from intial cuts this one just may take mine once it's broke in. It'll be close.

Saw arrived safe and sound to it's home!:)
