10pin .325 full comp semi chisel chain

Especially found some pine for this. Just 11-12" round, and sorry for my crap operator skills in this vid, miss the dogs for lining up and I stupidly parked my beloved Subaru brumby/brat (wish there was some even remotely comparable newer vehicle) on a slope.. First time I've ever cut pine with a big saw and first time ever cut a cookie.

Saw is way out of tune with carb. Lots of work to do still.

Cheers, just thought I'd have a laugh posting a vid cutting pine considering the "hard" timber us Ozzie's brag about ;)

Seriously very disappointed so far with the saw (or I should say my work on it).

Will need to rebuild wj-33 carb and get it running adequately as have an exotic timber order to fill.

After that think I will switch to a 690 cylinder.

Then will fill carb intake block spacer screw holes, build up around current intake outside wall. Drill and tap threads, make new intake spacer, put a barb into cylinder for impulse line. Should enable me to get a better intake.

Obviously will also need to bore the 690 out to 56mm.

Bigger carb maybe? Not sure here.

Not the carb, found the problem..

Serves me right for not splitting it completely.. :/ bad case gasket, sucking oil into combustion chamber...

This is easy to fix, just annoying.

This however.

Look at clutch nut. Come adrift from spider. Now this is going to be fun..

I've actually really enjoyed this little project. Just under a little stress as this saw is/was the only big saw I have running that will fit my logosol mounts (dolmars don't, need to buy a different mounts and the delivery time is to long).

Anyway saw is in pieces, crank cooling of from heat gun seperation. So will assemble tomorrow morning. Hopefully cutting well by lunchtime :) Nothing like having spares.

More progress, yes I did take the inner seal off the bearings.

Then lack of progress. I should have dummy fitted case to 603 cylinder. Turns out cases ate the same except the 603 has a couple of indents in it for the removable transfers. So my shortcut became a long cut. Crankcase is nicer though.

Spent about an hour cleaning and recleaning out the crankcase, just incase something got in (and it did).

Smeared with yammabond and left to set.

Update again finally. Haven't trusted myself to work on saws, a bad flu makes mistakes easily happen.

Anyway here's the oil pump being fitted. Make sure you pull the gear forward when installing the adjuster screw. Otherwise you toast the worm.

Next was a lesson in quantum physics. The sprocket/clutch roller bearing has a metal spacer that sits in under it. Well a black hole ate it and I didn't realise it. That's why my clutch stuffed up. 2 nice new rollers fitted in, expensive but will do the job nicely.
