Is there a way to determine if there were any specification/component changes between the last version of the 346xpne sold in the US and the ones that were made for foreign markets thru 2018?

Good question. Judging from other saws like 272,61 and other huskys built for other markets, the muffler is a typical place where there are differences. I think those saws also have a slightly lower rated power output than the swedish models that were sold here new. I doubt you’d see any real difference with a new 346 from europe, as long as the muffler doesnt have a cat youll be good to go.

A customer sent me a 346 for port work, his saw is from Europe. The muffler is a non-cat version. Everything else looks the same.

You are correct, sir. These EU saws pretty much appear to be an open can.
