K&N filters for Stihl models

I am starting its own thread so easy to find in search later ,I picked up a few K&N filters to try because they are washable due to my HD2 filters getting soaked from spitback and losing power ,i do not have a lot of time on this filter here yet ,but i was shocked it was so clean when i checked it .I burned 3 tanks of fuel with it ,says 1.3 hours on the hour meter added since i put it on ,Yes i know only an hour on it ,but i do not cut all the time .Just was shocked my HD2 would have had some fines packed in the top by now ,and this one was spotless ,Maybe the extra area does not have to pull so hard to flow in one spot ??? Well here are images i have so far ,i will report back next time i cut and when i have to clean it how many hours it took .May take a while ,because i do not have any milling projects lined up right away .The outerwears cover seems to work much better on this filter also for trapping fines .

I just buy them unpainted ,the logo's wear off on their own after a few stump cuts

Oh. That works for some saws but not the stihl ms 441

Oh. That works for some saws but not the stihl ms 441

The site says they fit 441 ,but i have not tried fitment on that model so i can not say ,they do not fit my 660 or the 460 or 461 i know for sure ,i think just 044,064,and 066 flat tops they will work with from what i can tell .

The K&N should fit any saw that uses a OEM HD2 filter. It is a direct replacement.

I run those with these K&N filters on my 084.

Subbed.... really looking to get one for the 064 and not have any fines get passed the filter.

Kind of a strange design but long as it filters well.

Are those prefilters the same that some of us are running on the HD2 filters?
