These belong to Boyd Dosher (Boyd's Outdoor Power - Dresser, WI) but will be on display here for some time.

Got this old model 50 resurrected this week, so I can make room for my 621 that's coming. First one I've ever seen with a chain brake.

Every seal on it was toast so it got crank seals, base gasket, intake gaskets, carb kit, etc... Runs great now. A lot more power than I expected.

@Junk Meister Didn't want to hijack that 254 thread, and this 2054 info fits better over here anyway.

2051, 2054, 2055 would have been a hit if they also came out in orange. But Husky had that market segment covered with their own models. This chassis originated from the Partner side of the family, but the Poulan Pro thing wasn't really going anywhere, and there were plenty of Poulan based models in that line up. Jonsered was the only brand that had a need for something in that segment, so they were a red only release.

Little quirky to work on with the long throttle cables and wires. But they were good saws with good power and very smooth. They suffered the familiar fate of pro saws in that size competing with lower priced homeowner models in the catalog like the 2050, which was also Partner derived. (P400). Pro saws in the 50cc range are traditionally a tough sell beyond tree service customers, who will pay for the best saw in each segment.

They were introduced with lot of fanfare. Along with the Partner designed 2077 and 2083, they were touted as Jonsered taking a more independent direction from Husky. That was the last Jonsered chassis that we'd see that wasn't based on a Husky design. Easy to look back on that now to see that was all an illusion. In the 1st place it wasn't really a homegrown Jonsered design, and there weren't any more Partner models to latch onto.

Jonsered independence was over, but they kept the brand going for another 20 years or so with shared models from Husky, getting red versions of most of the 3-series Huskys. Not a bad thing at all.

I was offered this saw. Doesn't run - haven't had the chance to look it over. Is this generation worth fixing up?

Loonks to be a 510 or 520, so really not worth any effort at all.

Thanks for the feedback. It didn't seem to be any sizeable displacement or particularly great quality.

I'm pretty sure this saw has the automatic oiler in addition to the manual override.

If you look closely at the photo above you can see some Poulan Sublime Green peaking out from the PTO side crankcase 1/2.
