I’m aware that black oil doesn’t mean much and as far as the hydrostatic mine says at least 100 hours if not 200 hours but was thinking about doing it also since only holds a couple gallons.

My 2 cents using my LS MT240HE maintenance schedule.

First 50 hours:
Change engine oil and filter
Change front axle oil
Replace fuel filter, hydro filter, hydraulic filter. Top off hydraulic/hydro oil.

Engine oil and filter change, fuel filter change at 200 hours or 1 year.

Hydraulic/Hydro oil and filters every 300 hours

That's what my Kubota is after the initial 50 hour break-in. No wait...400 hydro, 200 engine.
Well I must have an old operation manual with my 2021 model tractor I bought 6-8 weeks ago. Still thinking I’ll change it all and be safe. And the manual says to use break in oil for engine up to 100 hours even if you decide to change early to make sure rings seat proper. Seems to me John Deere changes the break in process way too often. And yes after this first one I’ll change oil at 1 year or 100 hours and the hydrostatic at 2-300 but just am trying to remove initial contamination

Also is this just the after break in maintenance schedule? My manual says longer intervals after the first one. Friend of mine and co worker bought a 3,5 ecoboost same time as me he changed his oil every 10000 miles on his I changed the first 2500 and every 4000 after both using full synthetic. He had timing chains done at 45000 and I have 111000 on original chains. After he had chains done he switched to my schedule and oil because he didn’t need the more expensive oil to change every 4000

Weird, my mobil1 jug says I can go 25k and never ever have to check the oil level...

People are tools! :D

I changed the oil on my diesel tractors every year or 100 hours. Change the oil on all our gasoline cars at 3000k. Makes me all warm inside!

I’m just using cheap fram labeled synthetic oil for my truck but it’s made by ConocoPhillips and meets all the Ford turbo specs. Between that the 111,000 miles and the fact that ConocoPhillips makes the motorcraft oil I think it’s fine. Even though I got grief at work for being cheap and trying to find the cheapest oil I could. The cheap part just happened I was just looking for an easy to get oil that met all specs and was full synthetic not a blend. Figured with turbos and the timing chain issues it wouldn’t hurt.

Also when putting up the fence my sister in law asked me to check the oil on her truck for her because low oil light came on. She handed me a 5 qt jug and it was a good thing because it took 3.5 qts to bring up half way on the good zone. 2017 Chevy 5.3 86,000 miles that the dealership does the changes on at whatever they set computer too. Last truck she had was a 2008 5.3 that lost the engine due to a collapsed lifter at 102,000. I’m thinking Chevy many have ruined a good engine
