bought a new 2025 with a cab a few weeks ago and while people give me crap about my overgrown lawn mower this thing actually does quite a bit for its size.

Doesn’t have air because they say the small tractors loose to much pto hp with the ac. Sure was nice in the constant rain/drizzle yesterday though. Was scraping the top few inches of sod and clay off at my sister in laws house to put up a dog fence. She wants to bury wire inside along fence to keep them from digging out it they try. So next thing to see is how my 3 pt pto auger drills clay with its 9” bit, have 30 post holes to put in

Should do just fine with a 9" bit. Watch out for tree roots!

I have a 1025r and love it, Just washed it yesterday. I have done literally tons of work with it. Added 20 tons of topsoil to the hillside a few weeks ago.

Yes it does have heat, I was looking at buying a 3033,3039 or 3046 at first and that is as big as I wanted to go but kind decided I wasn’t wanting to spend 50,000 the way I wanted to set up. Then looked at the 2 series and the 2025 is the only one that has a factory cab that looks good, can’t stand most aftermarket cabs and they’re not any cheaper. Picked this over the 1025 because it’s 6” longer a bit heavier with larger tires but still maneuverable in woods. So far it’s done better than expected and I’m not regretting buying the bigger one at the moment. Only downside so far is it only lifts about 900 lbs but otherwise it’s great. Waiting for my forks and 54” front mount blower to show up.

I’ve been considering upgrading and was initially thinking a 3039r but the 2038r looks like an awesome machine too. You can’t go wrong with any of them as long as it’s green!

But it's 900lbs you don't have to lift with your back!

I looked at all of those too when I was shopping. Biggest problem to me was the loader was not quick attach from the tractor. Makes servicing the tractor extremely easy and sometimes you just don't need a loader for the job at hand. I totally get the money. Cost was ridiculous compared to comparative machines.

This is the newer 2025r and it’s a quick detached loader with built in kick stand. And the factory cab not available on the 2032 or 2038 so while a bit wider and heavier no cab available so need to buy an aftermarket cab for them.

I seen that on yours and I think that was available on the 1025 when I bought mine but it was not available on the 2038 when I had money in my hands. It's a must have feature in my opinion.

Wouldn’t even consider the 2038 over a 3033 or 3039 just because it’s not very compatible spec wise and too close in price. I also wouldn’t buy a 3 e series because of the no cab and some don’t even have a live pto and no center pto option. The 3 series had quite a bit of cost added with the mid pto add on and my 6000$ blower. If I hadn’t really wanted a cab and blower I would have bought a 3033 or 3039. Small tractors seem to hold value well so maybe sometime I’ll trade up. Green isn’t any more than red or orange anymore

I for like that this is a non direct, non turbo diesel for simplicity if I keep it for 30 plus years. The 3 series has a 59” blower this one has a 54” front mount that was about 2000$ cheaper than the 3 series blower

The post 2018 2025 uses the same loader as the 1025, the older 2025 was still a yanmar but the only thing I didn’t like is mine won’t lift as much as the older one. Made a new tractor of same series but reduced the loader capacity by like 200 lbs

Who makes the 2025 now? Yanmar has been making JD compacts forever.

John Deere has made their own since 2018, the tractor is made in Georgia with a yanmar diesel. My frame has a made in Canada sticker on it. I do believe the 1-3 series is made in Georgia for sure and maybe even the 4 series.

just picked up my new auger, was a bit more than the Chinese one from tractor supply but that has shear bolts and this one a slip clutch. But at least it’s assembled in the USA with as many us components as possible. Now to see how it drills clay haha

John Deere has made their own since 2018, the tractor is made in Georgia with a yanmar diesel. My frame has a made in Canada sticker on it. I do believe the 1-3 series is made in Georgia for sure and maybe even the 4 series.

Makes sense. When we where shopping for my dad in 2015 it was between the 1025r and a yanmar sa324. They looked like identical units as far as control placement and instrument cluster. Different loaders of course.

When I was shopping for my tractor, the 2038 at my local dealer must have been old stock because it too looked like a yanmar unit.

Does yours spin the tires out or the hydrostatic drive just slip until you curl or lift the bucket? Just wondering mine seemed to stall out when it was new before even loading the engine down. But now as I get more hours on it it’s starting to lug the engine down some and spin out. Haven’t asked dealer if it was normal or not, maybe just breaking in like everything else’s. Has 24 hours on it

King kutter makes some great budget equipment that is built with American people being paid American dollars. I have a 6ft box blade and a 5 foot flex hitch bush hog from them. Both well built units for what they are.
