Since this thread went a touch left of center:

Here's some tantalizing pics of the old "slow" "lethargic" German gal...
She does look good in a couple of dress sizes: 32" and 24" and wears them well, very well.

Full Disclosure...I do really like this saw... A LOT and have no intention of sending her down the road...Yet.
Bought it new in 07, put about 5 tanks of fuel through it, sat on the shelf for lots of years, then has about 8 tanks of fuel through it since modded. Still in the honeymoon phase of our relationship.
PM what you sale for

Let me get this straight. I can run a 25” w/ 404. But shouldn’t run a 28” because that’s too much.
Well that’s good I like that 404 stuff.

I used a stock MS462, fresh out of the box, with a 28" bar and chain to size a huge chunk of pine into a square for additional testing.

It had absolutely no trouble with that.

From my perspective, the 462 is a lightweight saw that doesn't feel right with a 28" setup. It's not that it won't run it....

Just can't do it. I do like running this saw.
Weighs a skosh less than the 372 and that was with a 24" GB Ti bar, chain, and a little fuel and oil in the tanks.
The 372 was sporting the 24" ES Light bar, chain, and empty reservoirs.
That’s like thinking you’re fixing to get a little then then wife tells you she started today. Damn

I am very sorry. Well, a little sorry anyway.
Was trying to be "cheeky."
This saw business is serious, sober stuff. Will try to do better next time.

Nahhhhh. Probably won't.

I will have been sober for 15 years in November.

Still not too serious though.

So I was just kind of speculating. When your done with ‘this group of 462. What’s the next saw on th list. How long before you’ve got another pile of 462s.

It takes about three months for me to get back to the same model again usually.

Next is a mint 044, and a 044 top end for @Boomhower

Then it's back to Husqvarna. I've got a few 3120XPs to do.....then a bunch of 395XPs.

Sorta cool and sorta not.
Now I want to fire up that Slim Swedish Gal, but I don't, but I do...
Is there a market for an almost new Monkey Muddled 440?:confundio:

The 660 build off at Wiggs place had half the 660s slower than 2171s and 372s in a big cant with 32” full comp. it made the next batch of 660s for most people better though knowing they didn’t beat a saw with 20 less cc
