New RS 404 chain asks a lot out of a 70cc saw. After about 4 sharpenings it’s a lot smoother, but I bet the 462 still wouldn’t like it.
I use the 462 with a 24 404 and I like that setup. Yes it is not 32 or 36 but I only cut hardwood here in germany.

My un-ported 044 embarrassed some 066/660s! I'm sure some of it was in the chain, but the cocky pro with the 066 thought his strong power head would dominate the cutting. It didn't!

Since this thread went a touch left of center:

Here's some tantalizing pics of the old "slow" "lethargic" German gal...
She does look good in a couple of dress sizes: 32" and 24" and wears them well, very well.

Full Disclosure...I do really like this saw... A LOT and have no intention of sending her down the road...Yet.
Bought it new in 07, put about 5 tanks of fuel through it, sat on the shelf for lots of years, then has about 8 tanks of fuel through it since modded. Still in the honeymoon phase of our relationship.
