Is This Jug Usable

This is from an 024 that I rebuilt 10 years ago.
It had a golf piston in it.
For some reason the lower ring broke, the piece hooked the intake port.
What do you think??
Chamfer the nick ot toss it??

Have a new piston kit coming, its a real 024 so no upgrade for it.
Gotta look for on 1/8-1/4inch piece of ring,,,,so far no luck.

Check in the muffler. Bearings feel good?

Bearing are fine no metal in there, will flush it anyways.
Muffler is gutted so the piece could have escaped,,,

The bottom of the intake port (closest to the crank) and the top of the exhaust (closest to spark plug) are the most critical sides as those control opening timing. As Chris said, it'll run a long time like that.

Another vote for blend here. Just don't raise or lower entire port for the fixes. Just blend the spots.

Smooth it out and run it. Did the original piston have one ring? I had one 024 open port that had a one ring piston.

I think the original had a two rings, I have never seen a single ring stihl.
But im not real old yet!!
