And it won't hurt a damn thing. I know first hand, you don't we gathered. I have lost JB many times in the transfers and the intake track of old Gilardoni jugs with chrome in the eights on 50cc two strokes. It hurts nothing just disappears and leaves dust behind even with added 25% nitro. Liquid steel wasted the chrome and the piston when it came out. Devcon aluminum is best but if you loose it you loose the motor. I found out nothing stivks to chrome or fresh cast aluminum the hard way. Stumpy can transfer this thread to JB worship land and you can stfu, please, sir. Rant done.
It has has been corrected to Steve. No disrespect intended. What I said stands so you do what you have to do. My opinion of people who talk crap with no real world experience stands. I try help people not be miss informed. It always ruffles feathers and never pleases everyone most times.Call me Stumpy one more time and I can do more than that.
500i = 5 ci
1,000i = 10 ci
Seemed logical
10cube, 10kw I get it. To me, 10kw seems like it would be low for a redesigned saw that size these days.Ya, I was going by the 5kw deal.

Or how about a twin 2x 500i=1000i500i = 5 ci
1,000i = 10 ci

You forgot big priceSomething has to be done to the 880...its the last saw of its old style in the line up. I suppose throwing money at such a low volume seller is what prevents progress in this class. When/if a new model does come out it will be driven by EPA compliance regs. Stihl may as well give those who buy this saw what they want, big power, big fuel/oil tanks, big oiler, big air filter, big clutch, exhaust port and other big stuff, maybe some new big 1/2" chain to go with it.
what saw was that?1,000i
The old 10 cube 2 piece head racing saw redesigned.
Logical that a metric measurement of energy and a standard measurement of volume are equal in numbers? It is a non-parallel universe.500i = 5 ci
1,000i = 10 ci
Seemed logical
10 cube? Jeez, should be closer to a 2000i.
ErM...No!Ya, I was going by the 5kw deal.

Only in the saw world would someone take pride in running epoxy through a motor, then proclaim it wont hurt anything because you got away with it once.. Bravo! You build high rpm saws, makes sense.
Brad would build it bigger for more HP and improve the intake to handle the bigger carb imo.

No. Just a few children types today.
Now that's fun lol. Carry on Freddie

I want to see them bring out a saw that's 130cc and holds 10000rpm in wood with a 42" bar . It's about time they did something right with a big saw .
You seem to fit better in the "motorcycle world". I'm giving you the freedom to explore it more freely without wasting our time here. Bye!

I'd be happy with those results. Though 'for me' a stock one would be swell as well. If it were in the cards I'd dump all my saws and order one. I'm excited to see future 500i tweaks from other builders.
Exactly flipping things used are going fo $1,500 to much if yo ask me.You forgot big price
Wow!!! Please give that guy the boot. You seem to fit better in the "motorcycle world". I'm giving you the freedom to explore it more freely without wasting our time here. Bye!
