[emoji6] and 8° advanceUpdate [emoji4]
Muffler mod and timing advance are done! I hope i have some time today to test it out in the woods.

Small update decent muffler mod and timing advance
The saw feels really good with these small mods, super fast on the throttle! Sadly, i don't have bigger wood at the moment
Now, the cylinder is out for machining squish and base and tomorrow the fun part begins

I've said it before and I will say it again...these new saws are going to be amazing. It clearly responded well to the advance and the muffler mod.
Do you find it to be really loud?
Impressive?
Dolmar PS-7900, in existence since early 2000.
78.5cc , 4.6kW/6.3HP , 6.3kg , 1.37kg/kW
And that is completely stock, built sturdy to last a homeowner firewood hack a lifetime.
I don't want to take away any bells and whistles off Stihl's new products, good for them to keep the market interested.
I'm just saying that I am not that easily impressed by specs marginally better than something that's been around for 17 years.
But i think 6,3kg weight claim was always very optimistic, more like 6,6kg, of course still very good.
I really like my ol'79er! Great saw, never let me down! But i think 6,3kg weight claim was always very optimistic, more like 6,6kg, of course still very good.
I am aware of that! One big problem with your analysis, you are using published weight, which is not accurate. That said, the 7900 is a nice saw.
