Looks like ingestion. Too much heat would have the exhaust edges of the piston rounded. Did you forget to install an air filter?

I saw this earlier and wondered just one thing, PA Dan; When you split the cases, did you get them powder coated?
No this saw is the ugly work saw.

aargh that aint right

new guess, fuel related, some of the E free canned fuel is not sealed, I heard of a guy buying 40 cans of E free from Lowes returning them a few days later full of water. They didn't find out till a few dead pieces of equipment and angry customers later.
