I like to give them a few heat cycles before putting them in wood. IMO, proper break in procedure.

I once observed a NASCAR Engine being broke in. The ground shook! Guy had motor on stand hooked up to all fluids. Started engine, waited for temps to start warming up then went from idle to 8K plus RPMs. Piss revved the sh't out of it! I will never ever forget that. About a $65K motor. Builder then said the motor was good to go.

That piston is actually Italian, not Swedish, and the valve was picked cause it leaks more than the German ones.

Attention to detail is important to me.
