I have no clue. I got it from a guy who bought them years ago and they just sat in his shed. Maybe $100?
Saws get bid up to insane prices at local auctions around here. I used to keep track of the auctions and bid on saws but gave up…worse than eBay, lol

I have not seen any but I’m sure I am not looking in the right places. @Sloughfoot if you find one I will go with ya.
Klamath National Forest bases the wildland fire crews near our place up close to Oregon. I'll ask around with those guys this coming fire season.

That saw used to belong to the Wyoming State Forestry Division, and it was bought at auction. It was probably used by prisoners on work release programs. lol

All my respects to CalFire and U.S. Forest Service R5, Pacific South West Region. To see the cooperation and coordination between state and fed resources to save property, land, and lives was amazing.

Sometimes these auctions are gold mines, all equipment allocated funds have to be used up, just the nature of the beast.

Yeh, Calfire gets a lot of mostly undeserved criticism. It's a thankless job. The armchair wildland fire fighters all think they know better. . They are the world's leading authority on wildland fire fighting and it ain't even close.
How quickly and effectively they can respond is phenomenal.
5 years ago our area had a fire racing down the mountainside in high wind. Calfire quickly backburned from the Highway and stopped most of it from destroying property. They were largely blamed for the damage that did happen, not applauded for saving the town that definitely would have burned completely. .

I believe Canada, Mexico and maybe Australia regularly coordinates with them too on the worst fires.

You follow Zeke? He's a wealth of info on forest fires past and present.

People do love putting side covers back on with the brake engaged. When I was working in Bahamas, someone brought a saw from a different island for me to unset the brake, which was locked so he couldn’t fit the cover in his saw. Some other shop tried to unlock it and couldn’t. I grabbed a pliers, unlocked it, and helped him pick his jaw off the floor. IMG_1001.jpegIMG_1002.jpeg

What’s the shortlist of easiest older husky’s to work on. I am looking for my next project and have never used a Husqvarna or worked on one.

Most of what pops up around me are Lowe’s ranchers.

I didn’t know such a tool existed. I’ll have to make one out of a scrench.
Yeah, we had them at work, came in handy when people brought in their Huskys with the clutch cover off, it was easy to sell those screnches when we showed how easy it was to reset the brake!
