Thank you Sir, took about 6 weeks to finally get here. But I'm here now. Apparently there has been a virus or something affecting the confirmation e-mails. But it's all good now. I need to update my profile. Been to busy reading the forums.

I use a couple of different online resources for searching Husky parts and part numbers. All seem to have the same IPLs, general layout and prices. Just noticed today that http://www.husqvarna-parts-sales.com/Chain-Saw-Parts actually has a 'where used' part# to saw model cross reference similar to the same feature found in the MediaCAT software for Stihl. Also have quite a different layout with every part in a given diagram highlighted in its own area of the illustration for easy identification and location relative to the particular assembly. Not sure why I haven't used this resource more. It's better than the others on several levels. Here are a few images for those who haven't run across this site yet in case you may find it a useful resource.

Once you've navigated to the saw (or any other product) of interest, you'll find the different IPL panels for the various assemblies.

Select a panel for the assembly illustration.

Below will be individual parts locations along with prices.

Click an item for a detailed view, part number and ordering options.

Further down the same page will be additional information and a link to the part# cross reference feature along with any superseding part number info. Oddly, the parts diagram, part number, and parts lookup links are grayed out instead of blue making them easy to overlook if you're just casually checking through the site. Clicking the 'Check Husqvarna part' xxxxxxxxx'
will get you to the cross-ref location in the next post...

Click the 'Where Used' box for every application of the part. Anywhere the part is used will be listed. Clicking on any result will take you to the respective location of the respective IPL for the application of the part for the particular product. Very cool.

Alternatively, if you already know the part number, just enter it into the search box and you will go directly to the part number detail pane that allows you access to the 'where used' selection. Great for searching a part's application if all you have is the part number in the first place..., like buying old stock or simply coming across a boatload of parts in a deal somewhere. Also very cool. (A note though: Part numbers need to be entered as a continuous number.)

Sure glad I ran across this site again and drilled into it a bit further this time around. Hope this may be helpful for anyone else who hasn't checked it out yet.

We have used that site for many years over on CR to find what all models a part number goes to which saws. Link was posted in a thread to help folks.

1990 K&S p+c 87 carb belongs here. Outer dawg and rubber carb sleeve ordered too.

Was posted here to help folks, too. Not everyone spends time on your forum.

This is a repost from the swap meet section:

Does anyone have all the parts for 2 Husqvarna 55’s on the PTO side of the crank out?

For some reason, I have two otherwise complete builder saws that look pretty good, but are missing the following:

Oil pumps
Inner bar case cover and bar plates
Screws
Clutches
Sprockets
Chain brakes/ clutch cover assemblies

I am happy to pay for these items

Anyone’s thoughts on a 285, buddy of mine bought one for 80$ I went through it and tuned it up carb kit ect. Did vac test and it was good, he’s been cutting wood with it and said it isn’t oiling but it was pumping oil when I had it. Do these oilers go bad often and can I even get one anymore. Or maybe it has an adjustable oiler and it’s not open enough for a 28” bar.

oilers on the 285's were very good.the only way to adjust it,is to remove it and switch the screws. if it still is in the way it left the factory. it will increase the flow .
the screws in red circle are NLA,but you might find them in dealers old stock.285 oiler.JPG

A man walks in the door, and quietly closes it. All of the sudden you can hear a pin drop, as everyone looks toward the door.
He speaks up, "Yeah I know, I've never been here before, but you gotta learn somehow. Cheesh you'd think it's this big 'STIHL'
I have tattoed across my forehead or something." :D
