I'm sure this might seem elementary but I was wondering how to go about putting a bigger sprocket on my 550xp mark2? (Was recently ported and now has so much power I feel like I could take advantage of going up a size) .325 7pin is what's stock I believe, but how do you get the clutch off? All my other saws are inboard clutch and you just pop a E clip and pull the sprocket off, I've never had to change a sprocket on a outboard one.. also, is there a particular part number or search term I should try for a. 325 8pin for this saw? Wanna order right thing.

They have notches in clutch you can tap it off with a punch on the inside of clutch, but don’t go crazy and in the correct direction, off arrow pointing

Aha I never even looked at what it said on there.. I'll have to try it once I get the correct sprocket, are they typically really hard to get off? And are the sprockets universal or is there a particular kind I should be looking for on these outboard clutch saws?

Alright thanks, I definitely think this saw can take advantage of a little more chain speed now cause I really gotta lean on it to slow it down, (1st ported saw)

Ported saws ruin you , lol never want to run stock saw’s again, lol 👍
2 yrs ago I was running a 460 rancher as my only saw. That darn 550xp was more powerful than it was stock, now ported it blows that 60cc homeowner model away. Thanks

I just use a pair of screnches to drive the clutch off, use one to whack the other and the clutch'll come off in ~6 taps or less. I figure if you can damage a clutch hitting it with a scrench, you shouldn't be running a saw.

You need a small spline 8t .325 rim. Not the regular large spline.

Did the Jred 2186 come with the same Tillotson carb that was used on the 385xp?
