Maybe they will really wow us and release a 590xp at the same time as the 572xp I cant be the only one who would like that......

Maybe they'll be so badass there be no need for a 590xp!

According to the specs the stihl 462 is kicking husky's a**

Yes!
But don't forget the hp ratings are peak hp. 572 could have a much wider useable power band...
And the weight in my opinion is easily dismissed when a Saw runs "Right"

Besides who cares how they are stock... it's all about how they wake up when they get "the treatment "!!!!

I honestly hope they run so well that a regular old woodtick doesn't have to think about spending an extra 300 dollars to get the perfromance they are lookin for.

Under the hood looks very familiar to anyone who's worked on 550's and 562's. Just like the outside, everything looks the same, only a little bigger.

One difference is that it uses the same CMR7H plug as most saws. With the larger combustion chamber they don't need to use that mini plug.
I think you mean the full size BPMR plug Bob. The CMR plug is the mini plug.

I'm presently been doing a field test between brand new 2016 550XP and a new edition MS261CM .
The 261 still uses the bigger BPMR plug and the 550 along with my 562 with their mini CMR.
I'm thinking the Huskies hot start problems may be partly from those mini plugs. Your evidence that the 572 with a full size plug may prove my theory.

Also seeing my NE MS261CM has so far shown no hot start issues that might be more proof.
So far my MS261 is the only Stihl closest in design to the MS462C, which I'm sure it retained the larger plug also.

Any word whether or not this saw will be on display at Boonville, NY? Official release is Aug 17th, Woodsman show is Aug 18-20...coincidence??
