any news on the 572's? so far it looks like the 462 is more powerful and a good deal lighter according to the specs....i like them both may need one of each as long as both prove reliable. so far my sure favorite saw is a 562xp. i sold one and im going to have to get another that saw is so good handling with a 20" bar darn near perfect to me hope the 572 handles similarly
specs doesnt say who will be the best match for you.

We did some light pine work this week, my buddy and me, MS 201 mtronic and Husky 242 xpg, when I was empty and had no more to give he used my 242. He actually own one 242 himself but it was the first time he swapped like this, so how come that both of us prefer the more heavier saw in a super light work?

Handling and the fact that the 242XP can make 15,500 RPM

well, handling do mather Steven.
Answer: distance from front handle bar to trottle level is shorter on 242, ie, more effective movement for your right hand.

I gotta be discreet here........Well first, it seriously smoked the "competitive brand" saw they ran it against, so I was mighty glad to hear that. There are some changes from the prototypes that I had that are sweet. Better air filter sealing and some changes to the intake set up. And they have a solution to the hot start problem that sometimes affects it's little brothers. The long wait for the development of this saw will turn out to be worth it in the long run. But the extra year we have to wait here in North America is another matter. But it is what it is. There is more to this saw than just being a bigger 562, despite how similar they look.

I can't get into stuff that will spoil this drawn out launch thing they are doing, but the details will be available on Aug 17, or whatever day they are doing the official release.

I would hope it would beat the 461. The real test will be how it does against a 462:) Still the 461 is a good saw and if it beat that saw handily that is a good sign

MS462 ?? ?? ?? Not sure specs but better than 461. The 576xp was super smooth, good on fuel with good torque and decent power. It was a bit too heavy for its CC so the market did not take to it, it made more sense to buy a 390xp with a bunch more grunt. I am interested in this new Husky, I hope they simply give us what we want. The 562/550/555/545 have had some issues for sure but when you have a decent one like I own in your hands, you have a saw that IS what I want.
