Has anyone heard much about this new saw from Husqvarna?
Looks a gem, I guess like anything, time will tell.

It has peaked my interest. I have an appreciation for fuel injection saws. Have 2 500i's. Glad to see husqvarna bring one to the market. Looking forward to hearing and seeing more.

This should be a nice saw the only issue I see is how they’ve handled the computer situation and being dealer only. Most areas up here they don’t have the computer with software to work on the 5 series auto tunes and the few that do have no idea. So unless husky will start allowing regular independent shops to buy the stuff so there’s places to get them repaired I can see major growing pains in the upper Midwest. There’s plenty that have sworn husky off already because of lack of shops to fix the auto tunes which can be fixed without the computer at times. With no way to diagnose the injection saws and pull codes to give an idea what’s wrong your left with guessing and parts cannon approach. Husky 100% tying people to the dealer for the new saws isn’t helping them at the moment.

Have to see what the torque is, the old ms400 was 4.0 kw but less torque so depending what the torque output on the 564 is will decide what saw is faster under what conditions. They both will be so close that it will be a matter of preference and which one has the better chain will be faster more than likely

I completely agree that Dealer only repairs is a deal breaker. Field equipment needs to be field repairable.
The 500i has a similar problem. Anyone can buy an MDG1, but it’s not cheap. It also doesn’t diagnose the saw very well.
Fuel injection is complicated, but it’s not rocket science. Stihl and Husky both need to stop making fuel injection the holy grail and get it out there in a more practical way.

But i believe these will truly be close, the videos of the 400.1 cutting with the mag piston 400 show them doing every bit as good as the 67 cc at just under 63cc which is kinda funny that this new husky is nearly identical in size.

Glad I haven't gotten to the point of buying the 562xpg mk2, let alone the 550mk2.
I feel like I've saved up some money for the right chainsaw!
A winner in my book, and one I'll get as soon as it becomes available.
Luckily, my dealer is one that has been around for a long time and has a good reputation, I've always been able to plug in with them and upgrade the electronics for free.

You don't really need an MDG1 because 6 years later and tens of thousands of saws sold we know the computer and injection system is the most robust part of that saw and something that just doesn't fail (besides some weird issues with some of the initial production run of 500i's, which was fixed by swapping the controller under warranty from what I understand). Any other issue gets diagnosed and fixed like any carbed saw. It got seals, fuel lines, impulse line, membrane fuel pump etc.

I don’t have tons of experience with 500i, but I’ve seen a bad injector, 2 bad pistons, a bad stator (probably the wiring), and a bad module. The MDG1 was not helpful for any of it.

But Stihl does allow purchase of the mdg1 and you can do the reset with it so while they are making it not feasible for a homeowner to buy money wise it is able to be bought. Husky will not allow a non dealer to own/use the software so that is definitely against right to repair. Scan tools are required for cars also to repair so expensive or not the scanner is a tool and it’s available for purchase but that’s up to the individual if they think the investment is worthwhile. Yes I know cars are standardized and cheap scanners to pull a code are available but in order to read abs codes and do running data it requires an expensive one that’s updatable as thing advance which is basically the mdg1.

For the user it is sad that he cannot plug in and read the usage time and error codes.
However, in warranty matters it is an advantage that only the dealer network can diagnose the electronics, and that the software is not out there for anyone to use, such as flashing.

It is actually a simple choice, if you are annoyed that Stihl & Husqvarna do not open up for anyone to plug in, buy something else.

Now I do not know if all the specifications are correct, but what is perhaps most impressive about the 564xpg is the vibration spec compared to the 562xpg mk2.

Yea its probably the lighter crank and shorter stroke that they mentioned in the specs they listed. In the usage video it looks like the saw likes to scream and makes good hp with its RPMs, but is the lack of torque noticeable or the injection helps negate that? I can't wait to see a comparison between this and ms 400.1
