I've been debating between a 60cc vs 50cc as for a limbing/bucking downed tress for Syrup purposes.

Can anyone give a pro vs con of the 50 vs 60 debate? Both will be ported 16-18 is my max bar length. The 70s and 90 cc saws have the bigger stuff handled lol
if you have a 70 cc saw don't bother getting a 60 cc just get a 50 cc and have it ported

I picked up a 359 for 40 bucks last week, starts and runs. needs a crank though. Is it worth the time to rebuild and port?

I do, "sometimes", display a bit of banter, but I just can't see how a 60cc saw would out cut a 77cc saw with a 24-28" bar in full length wood.

Even though I've read on AS that a ported 562 makes 70cc saws useless.

I'm sure they are great in their weight class, but there must be a limit.

I have a good bottom end if you need it.
Thanks for the offer, I have access to a crankshaft collecting dust at my old work place.

I'm looking at the 550 for weight purposes, the 359 seems like it would be a touch over kill for 16'' duties imo,

of course I could be wrong lol

Its the obvious that a 77 cc saw is gonna pull a bigger bar better than a 60cc saw..but does that make it better ?..or just better with a bigger bar ?
I made the comparison between it and the 77cc saw with 20" bars in 6" Wood because it was the saw I had in my hands at the time. Where a 24 or 28" got in there I'm not sure.

I'm not digging it up tonight but I do remember a thread on AS praising the 562 Extra Protection.

There seemed to be as many hate threads as love threads though, so I never bought a running 562. [emoji57]

In logs up to 20" or so i doubt you would like a saw better than a 562/2260..opinions vary i suppose.
