Does the 450 have more than one cylinder configuration?

The pins on the oem intake plate do not mate the reference holes in the aftermarket cylinder. The outside to outside measure of the holes shown is actually more like 53.4mm.

The outside span of the pins is about 54.5mm.

There are 2 different 450 cylinders. Early has the deco, the "450II" does not. But the IPL's show that the rest of the intake stuff: carb, intake boot, and intermediate wall are the same for both versions. Could be an incorrect aftermarket casting you are dealing with.

Mine has the decomp. I looked at several versions of ipls and came to the same conclusion that the partition is the same throughout. I think it is a manufacturing defect but I think it is a machining error, after casting. I want to be sure that I have good information before I press the vendor to replace it or give me a refund. The shipping cost almost as much as the part.

The well known vendor suggests I remove one of the pins from the intake plate, but I don't like that idea.
