Odd request here... Anyone willing to part with their spare 372 case tag? And no, I wont be putting this on a Chinese saw. I plan on building a non x-torq 372 saw from the ground up.

Thank you.

That's not right. Deceiving and misrepresentation of that build.

So someone doing this with a classic car is not ok then? I see this all the time. I even bought a truck years ago with an 1984 cab on a 1978 frame.. Take a guess which vin tag they used. This is for for myself. I want to build a 372 to screw around with. Learn how to port and try different options. Not looking to build and sell.

Are you bored? You guys must be. Are you the guys that also comment on everything for sale on market place too? Sheesh..

Well I guess this was a waste of time. Anyone willing to sell me a tag and some other 372xp parts send me a PM. Also, you better keep your name off this post just in case people want to blacklist you from their club on here.. Cheers

New cases from Husky don't have tags. Cases without tags look weird and can arouse suspicion from pissy people who have strong opinions about Husky case tags. If I had a spare tag I'd send it, but the last one I had was a 371? 365? tag and I think I got rid of it.

He just bought a brand new oem case with the crankshaft from me. I could see where where he would want a tag. It is no different than having a 372 with a bad case, rebuilding it with a new case and putting the tag back on.

A new loaded crankcase with an old tag is like….anti-deception. The saw’s innards will be newer than the tag.
Can’t imagine the potential new owner’s fury when he finds out his case and crank are decades newer than what he thought lol.

I totally feel ya bro. I'm the same person who cares about a tag. I would even find a tag that has no scratches to match my new crankcase.. And yes, I care about the starter decal as well.. Still looking around for old style decal for 365/371/372.. No reproduction..

It’s nice to be able to put an old serial tag on a husky. Stihl replacement cases there isn’t a way to do that really. I have a few 064 and 084 cases that have no serial number because the clutch side was probably replaced from throwing chains.
