So I have a 350 that I ported about 15 years ago saw ran good for a couple years and died found that the crank case bottom half was cooked so I replaced it with a Chinese one, new bearings and seals.
It hasn't quite run right since. I've torn it apart a few times now. I did find the new seal bearing combo was trashed so replaced them, along with the intake, clamp, boot, bracket the carb bolts to and the impulse line. Put it back together and it's still not acting right. Saws cranks right up and will work fine for a moment then run lean even at idle. Weird thing is if you push on the filter to hold the carb down it doesn't act up as bad. Only 2 things I can think are something with the case which it looked fine when I had the saw apart this last time or something with the carb? I have a Chinese 359 carb I tried also and it still acts up. Any ideas what it could be??
