Those fine thread caps are more desirable than the coarse thread ones imo. Especially if your gonna mod the saw at all, especially with a 346 head. They are a bit stronger.

Yeah it was your mention of that earlier that made me go digging thru all this.
I usually like to keep parts saws as saws, but now I got bits everywhere...

So what years were the fine threads used? Did we narrow that down? I got a 350 on the shelf but can't remember what year it is.

I can't be any more definite than by 06 Dan. The 04 saw was fine top, coarse bottom.
3 risers were loose in the box so not year id'able at all.
That little 'v1' in the corner is the tell.

2001 and corse thread on top. Didn't check the bottoms yet.

I have a few of these sitting around that should be fine thread on top at least Dan. Let me know if you want one.
While on this subject, I have built quite a few of these and then coarse threaded bottom never bothered me any. The bolts usually get some sealant on them and stay tight. I do like the fine thread cylinder bolts though, when putting a 346 top end on I just get shorter screws out of my bins or a guy can cut them off a little.

That would be perfect! Not as worried about the bottom screws as I am about the top! Besides it's a Husky so liberal amounts of loctite will be used!
I'll set one aside for you, just let me know when you need it.
