DMSO in a sonic cleaner will remove carbon in under 30 minutes.

But I don’t have a Hazmat suit

At $100/gal, how long does it last and be effective?
I have the proper gloves so that’s not an issue.

You don't need a gallon of 99%. It's generally mixed 10% to 20% in distilled water. Wear gloves, it isn't acid.

Ah, so it is a concentrate at 99%, not used straight.
Same question, however. Is this something that can remain in the US tank for multiple uses, or, a 1-shot deal?
Currently I have a mixture of Dawn and Mean Green with water in the 2gal US.

The concentrate is mixed to 10% to 20% in solution with water. It's good for more than one use. I used a gallon of mix to clean a dozen silencers and various well used gun parts. I strained it back into a gallon jug when I was done. A heated sonic cleaner reduces the cycle time from days to minutes.

DMSO isn't toxic but will transmit anything in it across the blood brain barrier. Use Butyl gloves, you can get them on Amazon. The stuff is far less toxic than any of the various low concentration acids on the market.
