Yes, not every last part is available, some things a guy still has to go around the fence post a bit to go at it from a different angle, but always seems a way though. Will be finding this out all over again when I work a builder 266 that I have.
Thanks for the tips @Spike60, sometimes all it takes is just a tad bit of knowledge to go from failure to success.

A lot of the parts I have ordered, had Brasil on them for country of origin. So we have the South American market to thank for manufacturing 2xx series saws. Jungle doesn't stand a chance against them Husky's. Here's a link to Husqvarna Brasil, interesting the saws they have down there. http://www.husqvarna.com/br/produtos/motosserras/

Boy oh boy, wouldn't I like to be able to order out of that warehouse down there. Just once! :ARMS1:

I actually sent e-mails to a dozen Brazilian dealers to try and score some of those saws, but I never received a reply. Not like I speak the language of course.

Many 272 and 288 parts are now made in Brazil by Husky themselves as those saws are still being manufactured down there. Cylinder kits are also made there by Kolbenschmidt. So, it's still all OEM companies, just sourced in South America.

Probably call you "crazy gringo" down there. Hahaha. Can't blame you for trying, must be a way, road trip? 55, 61, 272, 281, 288, 362. Makes me crazy just thinking about it.

Edit: "We need a bigger boat".

would'nt surprise me if Mahle is also there, I've bought 242 and 254 oem piston last year, Mahle pistons, boxes where labeled made in Brazil.

Yeah, places like this is where we'll be able to help each other out on these projects. Some 2xx families are supported better than others.
I agree with you Bob, it's always nice to help others with NLA stuff.
The only saw we can forget soon is the 242, Husky has quit to provide parts global, there is still parts here and there, but it for sure difficult to hunt after them.

Guess the real question is, how do we go about convincing Husqvarna that our friends south of the equator really need a 242, 254, 262 and so on, so we can get the rest of the parts we need.
254 was the biggest seller of those in Norway, it's still famous for it's reliability.
It's always in the shadow of 262, a bit pity, 254 is probleby one of the most under rated 2xx serie saw.

Some more 266 love, I picked this one up for a song last year, then sold it to a buddy in the tree business, he ran it for a while and sold it to another friend that needed a saw, came in for a rope last week, guy had pulled it so many times with no gas in it he broke the starter pulley. Just put a new pulley, rope, and mix in it, may have to see if I can buy it back, maybe offer a trade in towards a new rancher.
