Did the 262 have different carb grommets for different year saws? I'm having issues getting a grommet on a 95 saw with the 120 carb. I have an older saw with the 87 carb and no issues with the grommet. Let me know so I can get this saw tuned and into some wood! Been rebuilt for over a year and I kinda forgot about it![emoji33]

Dan, are you talking about the carb adjustment grommet?

Yes, I had the same issue. I saw it as the grommet not seating fully against the carb.

I got a large pair of Channel-Locks and opened em up REALLLLLY wide ...... then squeezed that grommet up against there nice and tight. Fit nice then.

The only other thing I can say is that I always used a new grommet when putting them together. The old ones are always chewed to hell.

I've had my paws in a few of those of varying years and am unaware of any part number change.

Hope this helps

Thanks Ted! I have a brand new one and got it on a HD87 carb that was off the saw. After talking to @Spike60 I realized I probably should have put it on before the carb was on the saw. Might have been a little easier! All is good now I got the one I chopped up a little to go on.

No worries guys! She's alive and sounds pretty good! Have to meet up with my carb guy...@glock37 and get my tune checked! Made a couple cuts but no good wood left and darkness came quick! Shot a couple pics right at last light! Checked compression after about 10 minutes run time. I'll check again after a couple tanks!
