Can anyone tell me which of the mufflers for 223L trimmer does not have a cat in it?

The two numbers I have been chasing are:

537161901
&
537039405

Which of these is the dirty polluting muffler? Cuz that's the one I want! Have had an older non-cat version and got a new cat version last fall which runs considerably hotter.

Thanks!

I don't know the answer for you but I have 2 Husky trimmers and I've just drilled holes through the baffle to bypass the cat. Maybe this will get bumped to the top and somebody knows the answer.

Thanks for the bump.

Would the cat version be considerably more expensive than the non? One of these mufflers is quite a bit more expensive than the other?

I'm sure the cat muffler would would be more expensive unless the company is charging a premium for the non cat muffler since it's better.

Yeah, I was torn on that also. The non should be more desirable, so more expensive?

It's clear as mud. The non cat is more desirable but the cat costs more to manufacture. If you were mail ordering I'd call first and have them verify if it's non cat.

Seriously it would be much cheaper just to drill holes through the baffle bypassing the cat unless you are worried about your warranty.
