Tank vent could be possible, although post-carb work it has gotten way worse, I'll have to twist the crank while I'm testing it later and I think this ignition is ok because it'll fire right up immediately after it dies (read: while it's still "hot").

just keep narrowing it down.

Well, mystery solved! The f-ing SEM coil just wet the bed when I went to fire it up and do the Brakleen test. Now I gotta break the news to the guy. I see CustomChainsawParts has a n.o.s. Coil for $200, is that too much of a crapshoot for me to suggest to the customer? He doesn’t use the 2100 any more so I don’t want him to toss an additional $200 towards a coil for it that may or may not work.

I'm not completely sure, but you cant break whats broken :) .
I know the L77 and the L65s have the sealed ignition system under the flywheel. It might be easier to find one of those?
