Same saw. I ordered the outside matching spike and don’t like how it flops forward. I don’t like the bar in the dirt, so I wasted some coin. Had these sitting here already.

Wish I had two of them.
Here ya go pat
It can't touch the dirt if your wearing it.

Meh... chain catcher isn’t bling imho. The metal catcher kind of sucks on a 70cc and up if your gonna be doing any serious kind of cutting. Not just stihl, but I noticed husky on the 572 they tried to save $ too with the metal catch and small single spike. It destroys the chain when it gets thrown and doesn’t last long. The dogs... eh it’s a matter of personal preference and what your cutting. It’s only bling to upgrade the saw if your just a dude that cuts cookies on the weekend who could get away with using a farmboss or rancher saw lol. I think personalization is a better term.

I hate posting my mistakes but here goes, I pinched the 462 in a log bucking on the landing today (hey I’m only human here lol). The excavator was right there to set me free, in the process a second log was grabbed up to the pinch log by accident. Smacked the underside of the 462. Not real hard, but hard enough I was like uh oh.... Nothing happened to the saw thankfully, held up fine. Good to know it can take a little bit of a hit. I wouldn’t recommend trying it though, especially if it isn’t your saw. Lol

Never shy away from posting your mistakes my friend. We all make them.....and we can all learn from them.

I run the hell out of other people's saws
That's the fun of it.

Priced a 462 R today at dealer. Regular handle $949. and 3/4 $979. with 20" b/c.

That’s much less than was posted above.

That’s only $20 more than what the 441CM was listed for at the house John Deere Stihl Seller.

I don’t call them a dealer because that includes a good service department.
