Okay, so I have been want to try a little milling. Picked up Husky 395XP form HLS during their Winter Sale. My question is: does the factory carb have limiters on the H&L adjustment screws. The adjusters are 21 toothed splined deals. FWIW the saw is a 2023 Brazilian made with a Walbro "WJ115A" stamp on it, "251" below the model #. Ordered and waiting on a 21 tooth splined driver. Hoping the correct driver will be all I need to fatten it up for milling.

Anyone know for sure? I have found "yes" and "no" responses looking online. Looking closely I don't see any limiters but I don't know what I don't know. Thanks in advance

Awesome!!! That is what I was hoping for. And a big THANK YOU! I am waiting for a factory Husky tool to arrive. The AM 21 tooth driver I have is not engaging(?) the adjuster and causing me to second guess myself, a bit of frustration here. Again, many thanks

Those are the new jets like the 585. Can’t buy the proper tool as the EPA has made it illegal for the dealers to sell them. And aftermarket doesn’t make one yet. The large Pac-Man driver fits well enough to adjust them and is included in most 8–10 piece kits on Amazon or eBay

. So tired of this EPA nonsense regarding small two-stoke engines and other small internal combustion engines regarding tuning. My little internal combustion systems last much longer, run cleaner and run much better than any EPA mandate ever will. Simple understanding and adjustment(with-out goverment control) of engines goes further IMO. The EPA should go away.

Not supposed to get too much into politics here but most of us agree that their overreach into small engines hasn’t helped much. But we can usually find a workaround if we are creative

I ended up buying the right size spline tool from EU, can’t remember where I got it but i think the difference is a 5mm vs 6mm spline tool.
There was a guy on AS that bought one from somewhere. Most places show it as available but then refund your money and say it’s on indefinite backorder

Some of the carbs with limiters are hard to see, but that 21 spline tool will push in the limiter and allow you to turn the adjustment screws. Looks like you are set with just needing the correct tool to make the adjustment there.

I put a Tesla sticker on my Stihl...now it is EPA compliant as a green chainsaw...the thing farts out unicorn dust so I am good to go!! It is also legal to use and sell in California now.

A colleague of mine had a new Husky that the spline tools wouldn't fit. I used a hacksaw across the guard to cut horizontal lines across both screws, and then shaped them with a small file so that they could be turned with a slot screwdriver.

All apologizes here for my post taking a hard left turn which is not needed/acceptable.

The "pac-man" AM tool as suggested by "huskihl" was the ticket. Kudos to @huskihl for knowledge/understanding. Worked well. I now have a 395XP tuned around ~10k in wood and turning about ~12k free(32" bar currently with a 36" waiting to mill). Good sound to my ears. Good starting point for my intended use I think - learning to mill. Three tanks in of fuel on the little stuff(felling/bucking/noodling) around the house. Definitely not my first choice for a felling saw(she is a bit heavy/awkward) but still a likable saw. Happy. Will get a few more tanks of fuel through it before I start to mill. Running in well and oiling really well for my use. Thanks again for the advise and understanding

Hey Shaun, if you can remember, slip a piece of tubing in when you send the PM700 cylinder back. I bought a new Husqvarna BV125 and it has the larger spline screws. I found I could move them with the large PacMan tool but it takes a lot of effort.
