you really swim in good classic Huskies in Australia.I have this 268 here and looks to be in ok condition.
Piston and cylinder look nice via the exhaust port.
Cost me under $30
Worth fixing up propper?

30$ is a bargain.
you can always wait until you get a used muffler or a part saw.It came from the same batch of saws as the 372 i got.
The muffler was smashed in at the front, and I am thinking when the muffler broke, it was thrown in the shed and replaced.
I doubt there will be much wrong with it.

If there isnt any huge surprises this is a winner saw, you paid only 30$ for it, if you end up to do a normal maintance build this saw will give you a nice profit.
You and I spoked about the opportunities we had living in high cost land earlier, I am happy to see it happen for you.
Being as it says 268 and not XP I am going to guess that is the later open port variant, but still for $30.00 with a clean top end you scored, excellent firewood saws.

it sounds almost like the guy I bought from in Norway, it's like to win the lottery!well having met the previous owner of these saws, and seeing all the others I got from him, it will have been bought, used with zero maintenance until it stopped, and then dumped in the shed and replaced.
I'm not talking bad stoppages, I am talking leaking gasket, broken muffler, blocked carb, slipping clutch.
I am going to ring him back next week to ask if he has friends
I'm starting to think your avatar is a pic of you under the deluge of good deals coming your way.It came from the same batch of saws as the 372 i got.
