That top edge will cut fast, but may not be very durable. (I cut dead oak) The forward lean will help it feed well. Can that type of raker be lowered just like any other type?

Looks good Sondre! Maybe roll the file out of the tooth a bit. That top angle is really steep. And your forward lean will lessen a bit also.

The raker can be filed down, just like any other. It's a safety chain I got for for free.

I was looking at that too, Dan. The first photo I posted was probably the best tooth. Little steeper angle, and cleaner filing. This freehand converting is certainly something that needs to be learned. It's fun though.

What's a good raker height to start with? I've read through the whole thread and seen anything from .015 to .030. I've been setting them around .025 and adjusting from there. Seems to self feed better with lower rakers, though.

If you get your cutters all like that, .020 will work, .025 a bit more aggressive. If your top plate gets a beak, even .020 is grabby
