I got a couple rolls of Oregon CL to use and hit them up on my square grinder to make them better.

The stuff fresh off the roll isn’t bad but if you’re use to something else may as well grind it so it reacts the same as everything else.

Looks like the corner is too low and the side plate is leaning back too much. Try lifting the handle and rotating it less. Are you filling with the chain on the bar? It’s much better in a vice.
Where about sin the UK are you? Chainsawbars are the only place I’ve found that sell square chain, but have been out of stock for a while.

I see a helluva good start! Nice job. 1st critique would be to get that side plate to lean the other way. It'll help the chain self feed.

Like the other guys have said; that’s a great start Austin. Roll the file slightly in your hand, and you should be in business.
