Slapped together this poor mans chain vice. Works pretty good but your only doing one tooth before moving the chain.
Only filing the far left tooth I assume. It’s the only one where the file won’t hit your angles.
If your only getting one tooth, you should try some vice grips. Only clamp the back half in the vice, the working handle is free to open and close.

I was thinking if he had a couple of pieces of T metal (instead of angle iron) he could set up several teeth at a time with the proper down angle.

I just put a stump vice on my bar, put the saw on a wooded box I have, sit on my dolly chair made for working on cars, and go to town.

I keep each tooth still by putting a paint stirrer behind it. Hold the paint stirrer in place with one hand, file with the other.

My chains almost never leave the saw.

Yea watched this and took screen shots to look at when trying to do my own I will get a pic or two up in next couple of days I'd like to master it or even just get passable at it lol I can round file with the best of them just something else I'd like to try here in uk no one does much square fileing I even got to order files from USA I do cut a bit of dirty wood but get some nice fresh clean I'd like to cut with square see how fast it is.

I never took into account any angles. I just tried to get the file to line up into the corner of the cutter. Here are a couple pics from when I hand filed it.
