They make the ones from abolox tools look like Chinese junk. I cant wait to touch my chain up. I'm going to try and get some good macros of a tooth filed with these vs the other file. I bet the finish will be way better.

That was the only thing I could think of

You would think if it was leftover metal it would be chopped off and recycled

I am sure thats some pretty pricey steel
Only problem with using it in a jig is calibration. Without coinciding marks on either side of the jig, it’ll be impossible to orient the file exactly the same for both sides on the chain

I thought of the way a regular Stihl guide has that pressed end recess and how the end would fit in that

Then I tried picturing how a guide for square filing would have to look and that escapes me

I have never even heard mention of a square guide much less seen one
