How to square file

I'm glad to have found this forum. 99% of the people I talk to have no idea what square ground even is. I have some RSLF installed on my 362 CM. About to running it for the first time. What should I expect from it? I believe it cuts faster at first, less or more ability to hold an edge? Anything y'all can share would be appreciated.

What size bar and what kind of wood ?

Generally, squared full chisel cutters last longer than round sharpened full chisel cutters do.

404 lasts much longer than 375

I have not seen a video or demo on how to use it. I can kind of guess just by mocking it up but I haven't cut the chain using it.

The wider side against the top plate and narrow side against the side plate.

3/8. I made up 4 loops. 2) 41" and 2) 20". All different kinds of wood.

Use it normally just like any other double chisel bit

What is stihl part number? I just ordered two different files, hope the right ones show up.

It’s actually a 6 sided file. It has 3 wide sides and 3 narrow sides. Use it just like Mike mentioned above

I have the 7019 871 0006 and 7019 871 0132 ordered, one of them are sposed to be the six sided like huskihl mentioned. Not sure which one.

Wow! Yeah. I guess those corners are sides.

If anybody has a video of how to use the triangular stihl file listed above, I would donate a body organ. One of lesser importance preferably.

My local stihl dealer could only order a dozen at a time, price would have been over a hundred. Google searched and found a stocking dealer to order individually for $9 a piece without shipping.
Utube has videos of square chisel sharpening.

The videos I've found aren't using the stihl triangle file. My Dealer also told me he could only order a dozen for a ridiculous price. They are $105- ea on Amazon so if you can find them for $9-, please share that link.
