Me too. I got one of those Vallorbe single bevel files and I’m wondering if it will make it easier to file the .325. Seems like my Pferd double bevels just take up too much space to get the right angles
I bet it's better, if you can keep it from flexing. I've never used one but what I read they aren't as rigid. I think I'll phone a friend and keep getting my 325 ground.

My first try at square was on a 325 chain, wasn't to bad but I used the hexagon shaped file also. I agree with mike though, if you have a source for someone to grind them (which I do not) your better off.

Hey guys im fairly new to square filing been through a few files double an single bevel you giys think my square filing any good ? Its for race on 088 cheers

Yes Carlton and Stihl in .325 are quite different. Stihl and Oregon are much closer. I can square the Stihl and Oregon, not the Carlton. Just doesn't look physically possible.
