You must of missed what I did with a vanguard on your grinder and 123cc at your place this year. :)
I missed a lot this spring...

Never enough time to observe when you host one of them big shindigs..

Some day, I’m gonna put one on and hire an event planner to just take care of *s-word..

So I can just drink and race and *B-S.... for 2 days straight.

Was there something else that you did?

I shielded you and everyone else, from the “women folk” ....

Detail oriented, compulsive, yapping chihuahuas we need for everyday life and special projects, but otherwise are driven nuts by...

Thus, only getting to really observe and drink for .67% of the event..

Spent some time on the square chain this afternoon.

Top plate is about 25°, lowered the rakers with the husky file guide and clipped the rear of the cutter like Deets suggested (I think).

Gonna tip over some dead ash the next few days so we'll if I've improved at all.

Good looking toofs, rakers might be smoother in the cut if the flat is rounded over in the front. Just a rumor that was read somears

You need a forward lean on the side.

Yep...

Yer side plate is going backward.

Gotta get it straight or leaning forward a couple degrees.

You got some side beak, which will make it feel like it wants to feed at first, but it won’t last.
And it won’t cut fast or efficiently.

Well chit...back to the drawing board I guess.

Looking through some of the pics in this thread, I can see what you guys are talking about.

Any pointers on getting rid of the forward lean? I can't wrap my tiny brain around it.

Have to rotate the file towards the inside. The chain a touch more to get forward lean

When I file Im looking straight down at the cutter. Like Mike said, rotate the bottom edge of the file toward the cutter. Looking down at it, when you can just see the bottom edge gives you about a 2* forward lean.
