How to square file

I can file it on the bar on a log, sometimes it’s easier without play though. But either way I believe I have finally found my square grinder. Working out some details

a small wedge in the bottom of the bar between the chain to tighten it up helps a lot.

I've got the early 450 and it could use some more adjustment for most ppl but I grind only 3/8 for myself and only work chains. So it works well the 451b is a good machine with more adjustablilty than mine. You be happy for sure!

Not to much right now just work chains. That could change in the future. I’ll be doing 3/8 and .325 with it. About the only thing I use semi on anymore is dead hardwoods mostly liveoak.

What I’m getting at is a swingarm isn’t as precise as what one may want, they work in getting started but all grinders need fine adjustments.

No idea.
I've heard talk from racing guys saying a swing arm works better.
I'm just touching chains up and making them cut a little better. My grinding r&d is lacking

Mine too, my ground chains don’t cut too bad. But mediocre at best
