After seeing the 2nd pic it doesn't look as aggressive. Raker does look a little low but hard to tell by eye
Second pic shows a tad of beak, not what I'd want in a work loop but I do agree with your statement. It looks like a different cutter than the original.

First one is a RH cutter, next two are LH cutters

Pictured LH cutters are probably a slightly different profile than the pictured RH cutter

But I agree 100% with @Redfin ............ that first picture will yield an agressive cutter with a taller raker due to the fwd lean that I believe I see and the inside top plate angle thats shown

Do you guys usually set rakers a little lower with a square file vs. a round filed chain? Or about the same?
Generally higher. If you have a dry hard piece of oak you have to drop them a little...I find it won't feed with them up high.

Those are around .025"-.028" and the chain that far back... that would be high. Set with a Husky progressive gauge on the HARD setting.

Ran it around again and took the beak off. I have yet to install my new slide kit. It's got some slop in the old girl yet.

As for the top plate...I've struggled to get that to swing around on this grinder. Hope the new slide kit I can get to the top to swing around more around 15° or so. Honestly those angles hold up pretty good and even when I've hit fence wire it doesn't go all apart.

Good post. As long as it works for you, that is what is important.
