When I got my 084 it had a flimsy oil hose too. I tried the boiling water and the hot air methods, neither worked for me. I then placed the oil line in a 10" fry pan and put it out in the hot summertime sun for 2-3 hours. It was still a bit stiff but went in easy

I just put one together with regular stihl fuel line, and now I'm worried. What is going to happen?

I really don't know if that would work. Will it hold tightly enough to the barb on the oil pump? Not sure how hot it gets there either? Whatever that stuff that was used in the saw Randy repaired sure didn't take the heat.

Once the oil pump override cable is loose you can get the oil pump out far enough to get the new hose on the pump. I heat the end of the oil a little and use the modded pliers to push it on as far as possible. Then you push the hose thru from the inside out toward the bar pad. This all sounds pretty easy, but that hose is stiff as hell. The pliers are a life saver.

Here it is installed, and ready to reassemble. No kinks, or buggers. Without those modified pliers, this is damn near impossible.
