I remember a big screwed up thread over on AS about a guy that had a MS661 that was bogging.

Here's the fix.......

Old coil.

Take that off and install this new coil.

Yes.......it's that simple.

If you have a decent dealer it won't cost you a penny.......
i bought a new saw here is Australia yesterday and it came with that coil .:dancing:

So basically if I contact the warranty system through Stihl I can receive the updated coil?

I am a Stihl tech at my shop, was just wondering if I need to fraud the system, or really just need go explain and cause a pain so they cover it,

No labor needed just want the coil

Just went through this with my dealer. I had no issue with the saw after porting until I gave it a real healthy timing bump and a Maxflo.

He asked me what he should write is the issue. I told him it was lean coming out of a long cut. I told him about the fuel curves between the 4700 and 4701.

Edit: He asked me how I knew this cause he wasnt even aware.:)

If it is running well.......I wouldn't worry.

Here's what I've noticed on the ones that need more fuel. You will come off of a big cut and the saw will hurt around for idle and sound "off"......
Hey I know this is a really old thread but mine does this .. it runs good , idles good just a lean bog after a big cut , a couple of wee blips and it's back to normal.

This is a v3 mtronic , havnt done a recalibration yet as it still seams to runs really good

Is it anything to worry about ?

No telling. Bad wiring, bad trigger unit on the carb, needs a carb kit, small vacuum leak.....
I put a carb kit in same time as the module. I did notice the spark plug boot wasn't fully seated , slightly out from vibration I guess.

I'll have a look at the wiring when I get some more time.

Thanks for the tips tho!
