With some bad clutches with busted spiders and a little welding I can probably make all of mine and not need the left hand taps.
That's how I did mine. It works ok but even with threading it on a old crank before welding mine was a little off. I didn't face the end of the bolt. I think that would have helped keep it square.

Not sure what the clutch spiders are made of but it didn't weld the greatest for me. Since you do it for a living your results will probably be better.

I can true most of it up on the lathe after it's done as well.

best to somehow tack weld on a lathe as well so the pieces are trued up as well as possible.

still, the m12x1.0 lh tap is $5 shipped from china... why not just get one if you putting 660's together

660s usually have metal cage bearings so they get warm and fall together. The 385 is the one that I really want with the rubber seal in the bearing.

I would definitely like to see that however I have not found any other company that makes that bearing the outer race on the 660 bearing protrudes significantly from the inner race and that's how the seal attaches

if your gone crank many saws Matt, making sockets is worth the time instead of many spacers.
I got one friend to make a flywheel puller ages ago, he did a 100% job, clever lad he is. Can be used on all flywheels where we can remove the pawls.

Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to see your 2.1 version

Treeslinger used to swap parts out to make hybrid bearings for his 460s and 660s. I haven't attempted it yet.
