More likely he is not allowed to have a drivers license. Knew a few people around Joplin that had to ride a bike for a year or two. Maybe just a cheaper option than a car as well. I see several of the 50cc type scooters being driven around the area also.

While growing up one old farmer lost his license, so he solved the problem by driving his tractor everywhere.

That’s why Iowa changed the law to motorized vehicles or so I was told.

I do know that when I was in high school it was not uncommon to see a 1206 Farmall & a 4020 John Deere sitting on Main Street in front of the tavern. I did see a JohnDeere lawn mower there once as well.

The bar just across the border into Missouri, it was not uncommon to see horses tied up outside of an evening.

Weather guessers said 6 - 10". We got about 3". Two calves born last night, thankfully it wasn't too awful cold. One momma cow had her calf in a briar patch. I found it right away and dried it off and carried it out to the good spot for her to clean up. The other one was in a better place. Both are well this morning. That makes six so far.
