It’s looking good. I like to use the old 3pt hog carrier for those type of jobs, Dads just fits inside the loader bucket & I use a couple of 1/4” chains & binder it back to the bucket. I like to use it to trim trees, paint, wash the combine & auger carts. I think it’s about 7’ x 4’ x 3’, room for all tools & supplies.

Got some of this in MI..

Brings back some good memories.. and it’s cold..

I had a fellow Eugene from Detroit in my squad in the Nam. His dad was a Detroit PD. Would send a case of Strohs every month. We drank it ambient temp naturally.

He also sent, broken down into three separate packages, a 1911 with holster and 50 rounds.

Eugene was a grenadier w/M79. But 1911A1s were in short supply.

Worthless REMF snapped them up before a line Infantryman could get one.

M’effers!

Gene went home with a punji stake wound. Thru and thru on his lower leg. Took both his and my field dressing to cover it, front, back.

I've been on the search of an issued 1911a1 but nothing I have found yet. I'd love to have one like that with the history and story of its service with it.

Two most dangerous things to bystanders is the M26 fragmentation grenade and the 1911A1.

The tin handle on the frag tends to break causing it to fall off your web gear and detonate. No frags were allowed on a medivac chopper.

The 1911 being short was easily pointed in the wrong direction. And, being without a magazine disconnect would fire with a round left in the chamber.

First platoon lost their RTO to an ‘empty’ 45. He was a nice guy. Gone at 22 yo.
